Hilton's Transition to Digital Key

More and more each year, we have companies displaying the latest technology products at The Hotel Experience. The growth of technology in the hospitality industry seems rapid, as many hotels switch to digital check-ins. room keys, and booking options. A shining example of this transition was recently posted on Hospitality Upgrade, as Hilton aims for more than half of its properties to have digital key enabled rooms by the end of 2017.

The company has been using their Digital Key technology, who have released interesting statistics on keyless room systems. In July alone, it is said that a door was unlocked using Digital Key every two seconds. Guests can view the hotel layout and select their rooms based on a digital floor plan using their smart phones, as well as request additional items be sent to their room before their arrival.

This new system allows for guests to bypass the check-in counter, a feature especially desirable to those who travel frequently or arrive for check-in late in the evening. If you are interested in a digital key system for your hotel, our exhibitors will have their latest technology on display at this year's The Hotel Experience this November 12-13.
