Expedia to Remove Animal Attraction Booking in Wildlife Protection Initiative

According to Green Lodging News, Expedia Inc., a well known travel booking website, will be taking a green initiative towards protecting wildlife. Over the next few months, Expedia plans to conduct a thorough review of its wildlife destinations, and remove the animal attractions. Later in the year, Expedia will launch a Wildlife Tourism Education Portal, in hopes of driving responsible, well informed tourism and promoting the standard of care and well being of wildlife.

Expedia has been working closely with animal protection agencies such as The Association of Zoos and Aquariums, U.S. Wildlife Trafficking Alliance, Born Free Foundation, The Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International.
