Published by Lodging Magazine, the Lodging Econometrics' Global Construction Pipeline Trend Report shows an increase in total pipeline numbers in Q1 of 2017. The number of global projects was 5,496 with more than 1 million rooms. Projects scheduled for upcoming construction within the next 12 months is up 17 percent. Those leading in numbers include Marriott International and Hilton Worldwide. The top countries include the United States and China, which, together, make up over half of the global hotel pipeline.
