According to Green Lodging News, Vail Resorts, a mountain resort management company, has plans to reduce their net operating impact, waste to landfill, and net emissions to zero by year 2030. The company is calling this an "Epic Promise for a Zero Footprint", an undertaking that is no easy task. The Chairman and CEO of Vail Resorts has stated that their business is the environment, making it their obligation to protect it. Certain goals must be reached to achieve a zero footprint, such as reducing their electricity and natural gas use by another 15% and investing in programs that offset other areas of energy use.
